From a young age, my passion for health care was ignited by witnessing my grandparents’ health journeys, compounded by my passion for athletics and recent experience as a personal trainer. These elements helped me develop a profound appreciation for movement as a symbol of freedom which confirmed my decision to specifically pursue physical therapy as my career.
Raised by a single mother and grandparents, my introduction to physical therapy occurred alongside my grandparent's medical challenges. I saw the hope physical therapy provided by setting attainable goals. Witnessing my grandparents' determination to take back their mobility and seeing the positive impact of physical therapy on their lives fueled my desire to become a physical therapist. Further, I witnessed the importance of emotional support and encouragement from physical therapists during their health journeys. I knew that I wanted to be able to provide crucial support to others the way physical therapists helped my grandparents.
Having experienced the despair of limited movement firsthand, I understood the profound impact it had on every aspect of daily life.
