A popular french fashion designer is Pierre Cardin who was born during July 1922 in a place called San Biogio di Callalta in Italy to French parents who were very wealthy. Cardin is an Italian-born French designer who is best known for his haute couture geometric Avant-Garde designs. He became very interested in fashion at an early age of 8 years old, and once he was old enough, he moved to Vichy, France, where he was employed by a tailor. After Pierre worked for ‘Dior’ (Christian Dior) he left to start his own company in 1950. His first designs was producing clothes for different kind of stage productions, but soon managed to have his own customer base. Pierre started out with just 20 people and was fortunately successful straight away. He soon released his first collection in 1953 of womenswear. His first boutique for women was called Eve which he opened up in 1954. The same year Pierre designed a Bubble Dress that became so successfully, internationally and is still very popular today.
