Pink Tax, the added price for a female targeted product continues to impose an heavy economic burden on women in the United States when it doesn’t have to. Pink Tax is an disadvantage due to gender which causes an economic burden on women as it is a restricting factor on most women’s economic life. It doesn’t matter what social class a woman is currently in. Even in the year 2023 when the United States as a country could have laws in place to prohibit such tax. This is due to the government not having any restrictions on companies to stop them from adding on price to products. Women receive the short end of the stick in economic income because women are still paid eighty-three cents for every one dollar that men earn. The value of women compared to men should be equal especially when it comes to women receiving the same amount of pay as men. There should not be a discrepancy between pay due to a person’s gender, men and women should have the same access to economic success.

Advocates fighting against Pink Tax have worked to try to lower or even eliminate taxes on tampons and other feminine sanitary products because this affects women’s daily lives.
