Our ancient people knew the night sky like the back of their hand. They noticed that some stars made shapes and patterns similar to people, animals, heroes, and monsters. Today, we call these star patterns constellations. There are more than eighty-eight of them in all. The constellations orient us as vital navigation tools, and serve as vivid reminders of mythology and our place in the universe. Knowing the constellations can be a source of both satisfying knowledge and humbling awe. This amazing conglomeration in our night sky called a constellation also makes up groups of stars known as astrological constellations. One of the twelve astrological constellations is Pisces. The constellation of Pisces is based on a tale from Greek mythology and involves three main characters. First we have Typhon, son of the Earth Goddess Gaia. Typhon was a gigantic monster who was as tall and wide as the mountains with the head of a hundred dragons. Typhon could breathe fire from his many eyes and was capable of destruction on a massive scale, he was the fiercest and the most feared monster in Greek mythology. One day Gaia ordered Typhon to destroy Olympus, home of the Gods. On his approach to Olympus the Gods began to flee including the other two characters in the tale, Aphrodite the Goddess of Beauty and her son Eros, the God of Love. After reaching a river bank Aphrodite and Eros tie a rope to each other and turn themselves into fish before leaping into the water, the rope prevented them from becoming separated as they eventually swam to safety. To celebrate the event the figures of two fish were later placed amongst the stars. The constellation is located in an area of the sky known as "the Sea" or "the Water", which is full of water related constellations. Pisces is the sign of mysticism, mystery and the spiritual unknown. Pisces live in two worlds, the real world and the spiritual or mystical world where they interpret what they see into what they want. They do this to avoid all the realities of pain and suffering in the world. They have extremes of emotions and feel both good and bad intensively. Pisces have formidable intuitive ability. Most Pisces are somehow involved with occult or spiritualism. Pisces are very good at understanding people for they have the ability to delve into the psyche and see behind a person 's motivations. Pisces are prone to drug addiction and indulging lifestyles because of their eternal search for themselves and their fear of confrontation and having to change a situation, also they justify drug use by allowing it to get closer with their 'spiritual selves '. Once they aware this is why they are doing it, it will be easier to kick the habit. Pisces are not the pushovers that they may seem, in fact they have strength of character and will stand up for what they believe in and they can do hard work for something they believe in.
