After attempting to save her dog from two angry pitbulls, the 53-year old woman had suffered severe injuries. The incident occurred at 7:30 am. The police later cornered the dogs. They shot and killed one dog after it started to charge at them, and they took the other pitbull to an animal control center in Milwaukee. Police took it there to test it for rabies and to quarantine it. However, it is possible that these dogs did not have rabies. Pit bulls were originally bred as fighting dogs, which is why they call them pit bulls. While a properly trained dog gets along great with humans, it is not in their genetics to get along with other dogs.
Investigators took a sample of tissue after killing the male dog, and they sent it to a lab in Madison for testing. The other pitbull is a female and weighs around 38 pounds.
