Amerindians migrated from Asia 14000 years ago. There are about 30 different tribes of Plains Indians. The populations of the Plains Indians are just over 2 millions people. The largest tribes of the Plain Indians are known as the Sioux. The men in the Plains Indians wore breechcloth, which barely covered their privacy. Most women wore skirts, shirts and leggings. Most of their clothes are made from animal’s hides. In the Plains Indians tribe the role of family is important. The men have to feed the family members while the women take care of the house chores and the children. Even though the Plain tribes move around, in winter they stay at the same place for several months. In summer, spring and fall the tribes move around almost every week. They walked around 8 to 15 miles a day and find a stopping place where there are woods for fire and water for drinking. During the 1700’s horses were introduced to the Plains Indians, which transform their lives by using horses to carry their belonging. From 1720-1730 the tribes begin to obtain guns and metal utensils by trading. From 1700’s to 1800’s the Plains Indians settled in many different villages, they settle by setting up camps, which can be easily remove. Since the Plain tribes moved around from place to place each tribe is divided into several smaller bands (group). The bands get together once in a while for ceremonies and celebrations. During their journey from moving to place to place around the 1700’s before they were introduced to horses they have to build their small tipi (tent) that were small enough for dogs to carry. But after they were introduces the horses they have increase the size of their tipi, and women were giving the jobs to transport and setup the
