The Cherokee people used plants for medicinal use. In fact, some plants had more than one use. Take the Qua lo ga, or common Sumac, for example. This plant can be made into a tea that helps to reduce fevers, or can be a decoction, which is the liquor resulting from concentrating the essence of a substance by heating or boiling. Common Sumac decoction can be gargled for sore throats and diarrhea.
“Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.” from the movie, The Godfather Part II. Power is something that can be earned, given, and taken, whether it be through friends or enemies. In the dramatic play Macbeth, Shakespeare uses the plant motif to illustrate how cultivating power leads to stability in a country and in a leader, whereas hoarding power leads to insecurity in a country and in a leader. In the beginning of the play, the plant motif is used when Duncan coronates his fellow knights.

In the Elizabethan life, this act by Hamlet who is supposed to become the new king as he is next in line since his father had been murdered, would pass over and no one would believe that he did it without any physical proof of him doing it. It could just be sign of jealousy from king Claudius and would backfire on him if he were to try and presume legal action for the death of Polonius. The motivation of King Claudius is to try and get Hamlet sent away so he can cover up the fact that he had murdered his own brother so he could marry his wife. The motivation of Hamlet is to get revenge on King Claudius for his father, but if he was sent away then thee would be no one to get revenge on him for his sins. I think Shakespeare portrayed King

In early mesopotamia, their culture had many characteristics that made the early societies really “work.” Their codes and rules were based off certain things that can tell you a lot about their culture and how they governed the place. Mesopotamia was the first place to house civilization in around 1800 BCE. There were two civilizations that had stayed in mesopotamia, the Akkadians from 1800 BCE, and the sumerians from around 2200 BCE. Both civilizations lived at different times but had very similar cultures.

A notable example of Middle Kingdom rulers emulating the symbolism and feats of the kings of the Old Kingdom would be the use of aesthetics derived from the Sed festival, as well as the continuation of the festival itself, by Middle Kingdom kings. For instance, a statue of Mentuhotep II depicts him wearing the robe associated with the Sed festival. The festival itself was also celebrated by kings of the Middle Kingdom. The rulers of the Middle Kingdom may have utilized the festival as a means to continue the traditions of the Old Kingdom. In my opinion, the kings of the Middle Kingdom may have employed the applied significance of the Sed festival (which is to celebrate the continued rule of a king) to exemplify the continuation of Egypt as a kingdom.
Geography not only plays a part in the spread of a religion but also can be inspiration or reflection for the religion itself. Many societies have numerous deities inspired by the landscape in and around their civilization. However, I believe not all religions drew inspiration from the land they lived in. Mesopotamian societies had multiple gods. Most deities represented cosmic forces of nature such as the sun, moon, water, and storms who were responsible for the creation of the earth (World Societies p. 36).
Hypothetical Method in Action: “The Intelligent Plant” The article, “The Intelligent Plant” by Michael Pollan, explores the intricate ways of plants and the human understanding of how they function without a neurological brain. One mentioned study conducted by Monica Gagliano focused on the Mimosa pudica, a plant species with observable reaction speeds, to test the ability of plants to learn. Pollan used this and other experiments to prove plants exhibit intelligent behavior.
