Hello my fellow pupils I have gathered information about a character named Alex in the play called After January that we have been recently studying about . I have chosen Alex since he is the main protagonist of this specific play which seems fitting as he is the pinnacle of all the information and drama of the play. 

Alex is a 17 year old adolescent teenager who has custody of himself as he is the child of a divorced marriage, he finds his mother as embarrassing as she attempts to keep up with the young society. 

This play is based in his family beach house in Caloundra, Queensland Australia. This was not a permanent living condition as he is only at Caloundra until his mother Tessa, is done with her business though this all changes when Alex meets Fortuna and becomes interested in her. These things are vital to the play and Alex’s overall character as it hints and reminds us of his personal traits and interests.

I have chosen baggy straight jeans, a short shaggy button up shirt and a caucasian blond man as he is described as a white Australian, the clothes were also common in the youth of 1990 where the play is placed in. 

This quote from Alex " A lot of people would. I might. I don't know but I might.... To make people like me " tells us that he is willing to change to fit into society as he sees himself as an outsider. The quote " It seems distinctly possible that the cool people will find each other and ill be left with the losers " from Alex supports the idea that he thinks of himself as an outside as it says he will be left with the losers as the cool people of society find each other though this fact collapses on itself and proves false as he finds and meets
