Then I met with SGT. Thomson and we drove over to where he was last seen to question him. He was not there so after that we had drove back to the heart hospital atrium and got information from Ellen who was sexually assaulted by Thompson. She stated she was leaning against the rails in front of the entrance near the water talking to someone on the phone. When she had seen the man approaching her very closely and staring at her body.
She was a respiratory therapist who worked at a 72-bed hospital in Oregon; Ohio called ProMedica Bay Park Hospital. She “was authorized to access individually identifiable health information and protected health information of certain respiratory patients,” not of other hospital patients (McGee, 2015). She had accessed practically 600 patients protected heath information (PHI), but it topped out at 596 patients. During May of 2014, “ProMedica began notifying the affected patients that their records were inappropriately accessed between April 1, 2013, and April 1, 2014,” many of whom were frightened and had felt uneasy thereafter (McGee, 2015). The situation was made aware to U.S Department of Health and Human Services, who has since then posted her case onto their “Wall of Shame.”
Hi Deadre, I highly appreciate your post, and I have a deeper appreciation of RMU OTD program that promote professional development at the highest caliber and integrity. At this point in the program, I have to use the knowledge acquired to change our profession. I have also gained confidence in my practice secondary to using evidence based. I concur with you that the CIPD framework is a great tool that helps with organization skills that helps to produce evidence based finished products to promote the centennial vision. Furthermore, with RMU professors have equipped us with incredible knowledge that prompts us to be active leaders in occupational therapy profession, and eradicate passivity to make our profession powerful.
I personally believe that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is currently the most important. For me this was a difficult choice because the CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and (Department of Homeland Security) are also incredibly important, especially with the difficulties our country is facing today. I do feel, that SAMHSA, being the “umbrella” agency for other services, is in greater need to provide proper care for those affected drugs (especially, heroin) and mental illnesses. Drugs do not discriminate. They can damage anyone’s life, regardless of age, financial class, or ethnic background.
The 29th Event Ever since five years ago a dark pathway opened on February 29th. Weirdly I was born on the day of the event so in a way I think is attached to me, but I haven’t seen the place yet so everyone thinks I’m normal, but lately the tests at the lab are getting harder and school’s bullies are getting really rough and I have been under a lot of stress lately. So I get up and walk out my dorm room and see a label on my door that I didn’t think I noticed before.
Everyone needs to struggle in order to preform better. Writing has always been a strength of mine, but I found it a challenge to move from the high school, six-paragraph essay format that I had grown accustomed to. Throught the course of this semester, I was able to acquire many different skills in ENG 1101 that have helped me transition into more complex writing. These include various writing techniques, MLA formatting, writing for purpose, convincing my arguments and finding and properly using sources. The portfolio I have submitted is comprised of three works of writing that I completed for ENG 1101 over the last three months.
As a former AP Lang student, I feel that this class has been very beneficial for me in that it has allowed me to apply the techniques and strategies I learned last year toward more relevant subjects. Having the freedom of choosing topics to write about for our various essays made this class more enjoyable than the other English classes that I have taken. AP Lang focused heavily on the techniques of writing solid essays, but instead of writing about useful topics, we analyzed the short stories provided on the exams. Writing a personal narrative essay was very helpful in my college application process and allowed me to employ the same kind of strategies that I learned in class into my college essays.
As I reflect on the past 15 months of attending CCU. I recall the excitement, and the overwhelming stress of having to work full time and attend online college. I was not sure that I could complete my degree at fifty years old. Because of being out of school for over 30 years. I was somewhat reluctant to give it a try.
