The poem “Bug vs Door” discusses the narrator’s life struggles. The poet, Doc Luben, implicitly compares a human being to a little bug, who fights against bad weather conditions and the big heavy objects that the bug encounters in its path. In my opinion, the difficulties encountered by the insect can be juxtaposed to the troubles in a person’s life. The poet emphasizes the importance of choice in life. Doc says, “But so I would understand that every day that I am alive is a day that I choose to be alive!” It is true that every person faces many dilemmas daily, and that we are the creators of our own lives, even though we might say that someone else guides our lives.
