The person who quoted this poem is Clementine Von Radics and the title her poem is I pity the women who will love you when I am done.This poem is about a women saying that she sympathizes the women who will love her boyfriend after she’s done with their relationship. The boyfriend’s new lover will not only comfort him, but also be a better lover than his previous one. The theme of this poem is about broken relationships can severely crush or destroy you.
There are many hints and clues that support my thesis. Here are a few examples, every corner of you is haunted by me, ready to pick up all the pieces I left you in, and she will understand why you do not look in the back of closets. When she said every corner of you is haunted by me, she meant that he is scared of her or afraid of anything that has to do with her. As for ready to pick up all the pieces I left you in, it meant that he was left in shambles after she ended her relationship with him. Finally she will understand why you do not look in the back of closets means or at least implies that he might be scared to look what’s back there because that’s how broken he is. As well as pity for her ex’s new lover. The tone shifts when the narrator starts saying that the new girlfriend will understands on what he is afraid of. She went from she will to why you are. It shifts the moment she says, still she will compete with my ghost, she will understand you do not look in the back of closets, why you are afraid of every groan in the cold sweat of night. It ends with she will know every corner of you is haunted by me. Apparently after their relationship ended he became scared of anything about her. This depressing tone that she has at the end of the poem implies that he might of lost his
