2000, the decade with some of the biggest trends some people don't remember anymore. From new music genres to some new pair of shoes everyone wanted and even a game that had kids going crazy for anime characters. 2000 a lot of trends people have forgotten over time, like Pokemon battling, Heelys and Silly Bands. Pokemon was one of the biggest fads in the 2000s decade. According to “Den of Geek” , a website about video games and comics, Pokemon was a fad of the 90’s. They also stated that Pokemon barely made it through the late 90’s. However, in 2006 Pokemon became even more popular due to the trading cards and the video game battling. During 2006 ‘Pokemon Diamond And Pearl’ made 17.63 million dollars according to (“Video Game Wiki”). However, with all the popularity bad things can happen. Heelys were the popular footwear created in 1999 by Rogers Adams who got the idea after watching kids skate and rollerblade. Rogers cut out a hole in a shoe and he put a skateboard wheel on, creating the first pair of Heelys. Heelys were really popular and the next big thing, they were the shoe one had to have in the 2000s. According to "Traders Narrative", Heelys were estimated to be worth 30 million dollars in 2007. Heelys had changed the ways kids would cruise around, and even how they skated at the skate parks since commercials showed they were meant for skate parks. So many kids would go around in school wearing these to a point that schools started banning these new shoes due to the dangers and injuries. Millions of kid would fall back and only have minor bruises, however in 2007, there were 1,600 serious cases of kids going to the emergency room. After officials started warning adults about the dangers of the shoes, many schools started banning these shoes resulting the company to lose popularity.
