Thank you for allowing me to stand in front of you fellow americans on a subject that is very sensitive to my heart. I’m a minority in a white world which has had enough of the belittlement, and bigotry of police officers with a police issue Glock 22. Police brutality, and White Supremacy has been a prolonged subject in the minority community. I’m speaking on behalf of the black community who are treated like a disease to officers of the law, and live their whole life afraid to walk outside and face the world.

We are all aware of the situation involving Alton Sterling has been a victim of police brutality in the summer of 2016 by two officers responding to a call at a local food mart in Baton Rouge. Alton Sterling was selling CD’s to make a living to provide for his family. The officers tased him which led to an officer tackling him to the ground. They couldn't control the escalating situation which is followed by six point blank shots to the chest. The video of this gruesome execution has been shared nationwide by social media. Sterling's mother said, “He was just black in the wrong place.” This just goes to show that you will constantly be treated as a problem in the US even if you’re unarmed. …show more content…

This protest is to spread awareness of the brutality against African Americans by police officers in America. These movements have reached the NFL by the quarterback Colin Kaepernick who takes part in a silent movement by sitting/kneeling during the National Anthem for those lives taken by those with a badge and a gun. I currently sit during the pledge of allegiance, and National Anthem because the lives of those we’ve lost have never been justified. Now white people have a lot of ignorant opinions to object to the jobs of police officers. Such as “All lives matter’’ which is a very true statement to say, but in this society is it
