From the study of criminology and psychology, many researchers discovered that terrorists would choose to use different strategies to avoid giving useful information in the police interview. In 2000, Manchester Metropolitan police arrest a group of terrorists members, and in their house, police found a document named Manchester Manual that wrote about the information of behaviour in the interrogation to protect their group and enable them to use it flexibly(Clemens et al, 2013). From this experiences, the polices started to try to discover different tactics that detainee use to withhold the information in the questioning. One finding that both psychologist and police found to improve the quality of the interrogation is to understudied the …show more content…
Terrorists have to use this control strategies to prevent themselves from threat and get to their goals (Friske & Taylor, 2008). They control themselves from making decision of what to say and how to avoid the crime relevant questions that they want to deny (Clemens et al, 2013). Terrorists are especially fear of the interrogator because they know the crime more than anyone else, and they are throated by the police (Granhag et al, 2009) This theory predicts that detainee would choose the following strategies to reach their goal and control for what they are going to say in the …show more content…

The word they use are monosyllabic during the responses and sometimes they would pretend they are loss some part of their memory due to different factors(Alison, 2013). This strategies are more likely to appear in the individual’s self-generated preplan since they relied on themselves and they would try to protect themselves more (Alison,2014). Moreover, both terrorism and non-terrorism might use the same tactics in the interview, because there are actually more non-terrorism use this strategy related to criminal offences (Kalbeisch, 1994). Based on the knowledge of this strategy, police could still make progress for the interviews since they might response to the question during the
