Poverty is seen as a huge problem across the world today and in Canada, 1 in 7 or 4.8 million people live in poverty. In Edmonton only, 1 in 8 individuals are currently living in poverty. Poverty costs Canada about $72 billion and $84 billion annually with people living in Ontario paying $2,299 -$2,895 per year, while British Columbians pay over $2,100 per year (“Just Facts”, n.d). Through this statistic, we can all agree that Poverty is an important issue which affects its citizens. In the past, when asked about Political Ideology I would ask what that was. With this, they will create job opportunities for 40,000 young Canadians through NGO’s and also to create a million child care spaces for children and cap fees for parents which is no more than $15 dollars a day. My country is one which is blessed with riches, but the government find it hard to help the poor. In 2014, about 50,010,839.5 people were living in poverty and the government is doing nothing to assist these people (“Statistics,” 2014). People are dying everyday because there is no free or adequate health care system, food is expensive, the education system is bad and this is the reason why parents send their children out of the country to study. An example of that is me. Those who send their children to other countries are the elites and most of them are politicians who don't care about the lives of citizens in the country. Before getting into power, they make lots of promises, but they end up doing nothing when they attain the position and that is not right. Children are begging and selling on the streets and have no where to sleep because their parents are not working and they have no money to send them to
