¨Silence, I have made my final decision!¨ Most foster homes treat children very wrong. Some foster homes do not care about the children who are there. Also, children might be put in the hands of careless parents. The parents might be abusive or do inappropriate things to them. Pony boy will stay will Darry and Soda Pop. Darry and Soda work very hard for Pony, Pony will be with him family and friends, and they make Pony do positive things.
The first reason why Pony should stay would be Darry and Soda work very hard for Pony to have to best life. Darry and Soda work all the time, half of the time they both work at a gas station, but Darry also has a good paying job. Darry has always worked hard since the day their mom and dad died. Pony is always made to do his homework and get good grades. Sometimes when Darry and Soda go out, Pony is made to stay home and do school work. Since Darry makes him study, Pony gets all A´s and B´s. However, foster homes might not care about Pony´s education. Also, Darry encourages Pony not to fight and to ignore what the Socs say about the Greasers. The author states, ¨I do not know if you ought to be in this rumble, Pony.¨ Darry did not want Pony to fight in the rumble because Pony looked terrible. Also, Darry was trying to protect him. Most of the time Pony listens, but in the future Pony´s perspective might change about fighting.
In conclusion, living in a foster home may be the best choice, but being with your family is way more important. If Pony is going to be put in a foster home, anyone needs to find some background on it, Pony will not be put in a foster home because of Darry and Soda work very hard for Pony to have a great life, Pony will be with his family, and Darry and Soda make Pony do positive things.
