The rulers of 16th to 19th century Europe had a greater impact on modern people's lives than most people realize. History shows that the European empires have been colonizing new lands for centuries, bringing their culture with them and ultimately transforming the lands they conquer. Europeans converting those regions into colonies aided trade across continents, earning money for mother countries which only fueled aggressive globalization. The aggressive trading practices caused information and culture to spread, we can see today the interconnectedness between peoples of the world. The British Raj is one example of imperialism that has greatly affected people. Britain enjoyed total control over India during the British Raj, but ultimately withdrew and divided the country into Hindu and Muslim nations (India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh). British avarice created a legacy of bigotry and hurt among the nations. The transatlantic slave trade is another excellent illustration of imperialism. The slave trade occurred when white Europeans colonized Africa, traded African people, and transported them along a triangular trading route worldwide. It has left a legacy of prejudice against black people and ethnic fractionalization. ethnic fractionalization is belonging to a country but belonging to different groups and we can see that in the after-effects of the Atlantic slave trade making a new group of African Americans with some even inheriting the different cultures and religions of the world. Another excellent instance of imperialism is the colonization of America. When the Europeans first arrived in America, they immediately saw its vast wealth and chose to establish colonies.
