In the article “The Power of Birth Order” by Jeffrey Kluger, published in Time Magazine, the author explains how powerful of a role birth order has in not only human but also mammals and plants. The importance of birth order has always been known or at least suspected for many years. Study after study has shown birth order has a power all of its own. One study performed by Norwegian researchers showed eldest siblings had on average a three point advantage on the next eldest. That 's not the only difference. A study done in the Philippines showed that later born siblings tend to be shorter and weigh less than earlier borns. There are many different events and factors that shape us into who we are. It’s quite possible that the order we are born has a lot of influence on our personality. Maybe it’s your genes that make you a gifted athlete, smart without even having to put any effort in, or a depressed alcoholic. Whatever it maybe we have to deal with the hand we 're dealt.

With all the studies that have been done on the subject “birth order “ their is many different problems with the research. This is only a theory in the scientific world. The factors that can dispute this theory has to do with families internal issues. Such as parent bonds with their children, which are formed instantly as soon as the child is born. When it comes to birth order the bond between a child and their parents is incredibly important. The main problem with the research isn’t with the finding but with the methods. Ultimately all families are different and trying to find multiple subjects with the same variables to see if all of the outcomes are the same is utterly impossible. Variables such as size, income, hometown, education, religion, ethnicity and many more. As much as we would like to settle this debate entirely it just isn 't
