Once Albert Schweitzer has said, “The tragedy of life is what dies inside of a man while he lives.” This is saying life is a precious gift, but during lifetimes, this gift has been wasted or abused, Which becomes a tragedy. Othello is one of William Shakespeare’s tragedies, originally written as a play and have been adapted into films, tv productions, and a remix. This story revolves two characters: Othello, the general in Venetian army and Iago, the main antagonist, Iago, Othello’s bearer but wants to ruin his life. Demons is a song by American rock band Imagine Dragons, written by Imagine Dragons and released on Jan 28, 2013. Jealousy runs throughout the play, when Roderigo is envious of Othello because he wishes to be with Desdemona, and when Othello is furious and jealous because he thinks Desdemona has an affair with Cassio. Their jealousy are motivated by Iago, who is involved in much of this. Iago declares that “One Michael Cassio, a Florentine...That never set a squadron in the field, Nor the division of a battle knows…”(1.1.21-24) Iago claims he’s angry at Othello because he passed the position of lieutenant to Michael Cassio. He also claims he’s far more capable in this spot than Cassio. Who lacks experience on the battlefield. Clearly, he seems pretty jealous. In the song “demons,” it states: “But with the beast inside. There’s nowhere we can hide. No matter what we breed. We still are made of greed.”(lines 13-14) It contains dark words such as beast and greed. In Othello, Iago states directly: “I’m not what I am” (1.1.71) Iago is cryptically saying that he’s not what he appears to be. He hides his identity or the real him by being friends with Cassio and Roderigo but he’s actually manipulating them. Similarly, the song demons says: “When you feel my heat. Look into my eyes. It’s where the demons hide.”(line ) It points out that people may seem better on the outside, but in reality, they are just as bad as everyone else.
