What is Prejudice? It’s someone who has a hostile attitude towards a group or individual because they are part of a specific religion, race, or nationality. Prejudice is shown in some of the characters in William Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice and Angie Thomas's The Hate U Give. Prejudice is shown in these plays and novels because of their Religion and Race. In The Merchant of Venice, prejudice is shown when Portia reveals that she doesn’t like Morocco because of his skin colour, and in The Hate U Give, prejudice is shown when society uses stereotypes of Black people to justify violence and racism against them.
