Presa Community Center A small brick building adorned with colorful murals on South Presa street caters big time services for a community on the Southside of San Antonio, Texas. Presa Community Center has been a viable member of the community since 1974. They serve members of the community such as low-income families, youth and senior citizens with services such as but not limited to- after school care, free income tax preparation, food pantry, transportation for the elderly and family/school partnerships. As I spoke to Stephanie Smith, the President/CEO of Presa Community Center, she explained all the types of services and community work they do for their community members- I was in awe. Presa Community Center caters to almost every need that their community needs assistance in. This conversation gave me a closer look into how they function within their community. Stephanie Smith has been the President/CEO of Presa Community Center since 2005. She attended Baylor University where she studied Recreational Therapy and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Science in Education. Before she came to San Antonio, she worked with foster kids and young adults for 14 years. She worked at a Methodist Children's Home where she served 8 years as the Director of Recreation Services.
