Hunter Hatfield On December 7, 1941, there was an attack on Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor was a naval base in Hawaii. President Roosevelt Declared war on Japan and their allies a day after they were attacked. Then the U.S and Japan were in war with each other. U.S and Japan have been edging toward war for many decades. Japan finally caused war when they bomb Pearl Harbor. Japan was trying to make China agree with something and China did not want to but Japans belief was if they did not agree with you then overcome their country. U.S.A did not like that. Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor when they bomb it and they killed a lot of people. President Roosevelt was not happy when the United States were attacked so he declared war on Japan. The people thought it would be a terribly inconvenient: Hawaii and Japan were about 4,000 miles apart. They thought Japan if people attacked, it would be near the European Colonies in the South Pacific. U.S was not ready the attack or expecting the attack on Perl Harbor it was relatively undefended. The United States put a lot of plans and ships on Pearl Harbor which made it an irresistible target to Japan. Around eight a.m. on December 7, 1941, there were hundreds of Japanese plans that attacked Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii. The attack came in 2 waves the first wave was at 7:53 and the second one was at 8:55 and by 9:55 it was all over. Many people died in the attack 2,000 soldiers and sailors died when the attack happened. After the attack Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan. Three days later when U.S.A declared war on Japan and their allies. For more than two years into conflict America had finally joined World War II. The women had to work and make weapons for the United States. When Japan attacked the sent hundreds of plans. There were 20 naval vessels down and eight battle ships down and over 2,000 American soldiers died and sailors died and 1,000 were wounded.
