President Washington wrote a farewell address to the United States and in the farewell address, he speaks of dangers such as unity, debt, and neutrality. Washington cares about our country and won’t stop caring until the day he dies. This is why he wrote the address so he can help us even after he is no longer president. His first warning of danger to the nation is about unity. He stresses how the unity of government, “ is a main pillar in the edifice of your real independence, the support of your tranquility at home, your peace abroad; of your safety; of your prosperity; of that very liberty which you so highly prize.” He warns Americans to be suspicious about anyone who is trying to weaken our minds, weaken bonds that hold the constitutional union together, and just people who want to do wrong to the nation. He also urges us to focus our efforts and affection to the country above all other interests. He tells us to stay united even with our differences.
