In this experiment, we are testing whether or not the Isopods' have more of a preference for an environment with syrup or with water. The alternative hypothesis we devised is that if the Isopods are placed in between a syrup and a water chamber, then they will go towards the syrup chamber. This is believed because we believe the Isopods may have an attraction to the sweet scent and taste of the syrup. My group and I observed 10 pillbugs behavior over the span of 5 minutes, recording the number of pill bugs found in each chamber every 30 seconds. We fail to reject the null hypothesis because the chi squared value is 3.6 which is less than 3.84 (critical value at .05).
Provide 4 answers. Tell me why the correct answer is correct and why the incorrect answers are incorrect. 1. This occurs when a researcher fails to reject a null hypothesis that is
Research Scenario A: Question 1: Step 1 selection of test statistics Null hypothesis The null hypothesis is a statement that explains there is no difference between two variables (Salkind, 2013). Using the research question, a
Which of the following is a characteristic of a good hypothesis? A.Original idea not based observation B.Raises further questions C.Should be testable D.Contains more than two variables. 43. Which of the following gland regulate the function of other glands in the endocrine
Richard Nixon was the 37th president of the United States and currently the only president to have resigned from office. From 1969 to 1974 Nixon held office after a new wave of conservatism due to the College students marches that consequently turned into riots over anti-war Vietnam sentiment. Furthermore the Democratic Party split due to polarization over the involvement of the United States in the war. According to The Enduring Vision President Nixon had a tendency to be paranoid and fearful of any political opponent; including an “enemies list” where he kept all political opponents in check.
During the 1877 through 1920 the government's role wasn't really expanding, instead people were getting furious that the government weren't really doing anything to improve life so they started going on strikes, making unions, and bringing people of different cause together to try to force the government into being useful. However, this only led to political corruption, people saying they would do something to help the people and people would believe and put their trust into this "person" to only be blackmailed in the end. These "people" were called political bosses and they had their little organization or political machines and people would do them favors to gain jobs or etc. This growing "government" was a mixed bag for the American people,
Although we like to pretend the President of the Unites States is a perfect leader capable of leading this country to glory, no President is without scandals. They are humans just like the general population, and with every new president, rumors spread. Some turn out to be just that, but in some cases those rumors turn out to be true. Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States and during his presidency there was a report that he and a woman by the name of Sally Hemings were engaged in a sexual relationship. Jefferson got married to Martha Wayles Skeleton in 1772 and in 1773 Mrs. Hemings was brought onto Jefferson's plantation as a slave because of Martha's inheritance.
c. What is the research question or hypothesis? a. My hypothesis is that children who are exposed or given the opportunity to use these devices or are exposed to these devices at a young age will have or obtain more knowledge than a child who are not. d. What sort of research design are you proposing? (e.g. correlational, descriptive observational, experimental, etc.)
A superintendent wants to do a study on poverty level versus student achievement levels in elementary students. His district has 18 elementary schools. He randomly chooses 6 of those schools, then includes all students from these 6 schools in his study. Ans. Convenience Sampling
We, as colonists, have just exited a time of strife and conflict that has not been paralleled so far in our New World. The followers of Nathaniel Bacon have assaulted native villages, causing the death of an untold amount of men women and children, not bringing into account the starvation sure to follow once winter descends on the land. While many of the settlers do not approve of this drastic action, it has shown us the corruption in the Virginian government that must be addressed. In Bacon’s “The Declaration of the People”, he points out that our governor is guilty of “having wronged his Majesties prerogative and interest, by assuming Monopoly of the Beaver trade” .
Corruption occurs in a government when politicians are bought out by private companies. These companies would pay the politicians large sums of money and in return, the politicians would do political favors for the companies. According
Corruption in Mexico Do you know what corruption means? Corruption is a dishonest or illegal behavior especially by powerful people (such as government officials or police officers). Do you know about corruption in Mexico? Corruption in Mexico is obviously nothing new, but there have been many cases that are unbelievable, but true.
Corruption of Power “Being president doesn’t change who you are. It reveals who you are,” (Obama Michelle). Definition of corrupt, dishonest or illegal behavior, specifically by powerful people, such as government officials or police officers (Merriam-Webster). Many leaders are corrupt, but that doesn’t mean that power caused their corruption. They were probably like that before.
Description of Experiment: Hypothesis Actual Hypothesis: If the majority of the pillbugs are on one side of the choice chamber, regardless of the conditions (wet or dry) of that area, then the rest of the bugs will move to that area. Null Hypothesis: The majority of the pillbugs being on one side of the choice chamber does NOT affect where the rest reside to. Alternative Hypothesis: If the majority of the pillbugs are on one side of the choice chamber, then the minority will control/convince the majority to come over to that side.
The hypothesis for this project was “If a soccer ball has less regulation air pressure, then the distance the ball travels when kicked will be less.” It was therefore rejected. The soccer ball with less air traveled farther than the soccer ball with more air. The average distance of the soccer ball with less air traveled 29 yards, and the soccer ball wind or that I was tired.with more air traveled at an average distance of 19 yards. could’ve been caused by the It Everything went according to plan except that the hypothesis was rejected.
