Presidential Pressure Study Case Introduction According to the case study written by C. Bartlett (2015), Tony, an employee of a small electronics testing company, faces an ethical dilemma. His company has signed a substantial deal with a prominent cell phone company, which might greatly increase the revenue of his company. Tony is in charge of testing the mobile phone device and learns it does not fulfill the regulatory criteria for interfering noise transmittance. While redoing the test, Tony is visited by the president of the phone company, who suggests that he should fabricate data in order to approve the device, citing probable job losses for hundreds of workers. Tony would demonstrate his dedication to professional integrity and ethical behavior by refusing to fabricate data and following ethical and legal norms, which is vital for sustaining the legitimacy of his profession and the confidence of his clients and stakeholders (Brown, 2016). Conclusion Tony may have difficulties in defying the phone company's president and refusing to fabricate data. However, he must prioritize ethical and legal issues over short-term financial benefits, since sacrificing integrity and compliance can have serious long-term ramifications for his organization and his own professional image (Johnson, 2019).
