The 2015 President’s Cup tournament proved to be a very exciting and enjoyable to watch. This

match play tournament, which is a part of the PGA tour, was held at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in

South Korea. This course provided a challenging environment that allowed the players on both teams to

really work to demonstrate their skills in the sport of golf. In a very exciting 1 point victory, the United

States team defeated the International team 15.5-14.5 at the end of the 4 days of competition. The set-

up of the tournament is similar to the Ryder cup, where each team has 12 players. Both the United

Branden Grace was the top golfer for the tournament,

as he produced an undefeated record in all of his match-ups. In order to qualify to play in the President’s

Cup tournament, players must earn more points compared to other golfers. The top 10 United States

players who earn the most official Fed Ex Cup points up to the event are automatically qualified. Then

about a month before the tournament, 2 other players are selected by the captain (Captain’s pick

players) to also be a part of the team. For the International team, players qualify by being the top 10

international players from the Official World Golf ranking. Then as the United States does, a month

before the tournament, the captain picks two more players for the roster. Though the tournament is

relatively new, being started in 1994, this was considerably one of the most exciting finishes it has had.

With no major trouble from severe inclement weather, the players and fans were able to enjoy the

beautiful South Korean course for the tournament.
