What is a theme and why is it a must have in every story? Themes make the story make more sense because it gives you the main idea or message behind the story. And in animal farm I think the message behind it is take pride by grouping up together to overthrow the first oppressive leader so they can find a better leader Snowball would take pride in trying to become the new leader for the animal farm. The animal really liked him as he was a very joyful animal. People viewed him as a good role model and leader for the farm. A quote from the book is “now comrades”, said snowball throwing down the paintbrush to the hayfield. Let us make it a point of honour to get in the harvest more quickly than jones and his men could ever do”. Other animals knew him for his hard working labour he just does his own thing. A quote from the book is “he is dead” said boxer sorrowfully.” I had no intention of doing that. I forgot i was wearing iron shoes who will believe me that i didn’t do it on purpose. This quote is telling us that nobody will ever believe that he didn’t mean to kill the kid on purpose just cause he’s an animal. Napoleon is smart and a leader but he manipulates to get the things he wants. So napoleon takes pride in his work as being a leader but he’s also a bad animal on the inside so he’s just losing his pride. A quote is “Impossible cried napoleon.” We have built the wall far too thin for that they could knock down in a week comrades”. This message behind this quote is if you focus too much on what something or someone looks like it just becomes
