Information of the past is useless unless it is able to be updated, advanced, or applied to life as we know it. Imagine the world 3,000 years ago when rhetoric began to grow and evolve; what was life like back then? Consider their politics, their social standings, their religious beliefs- heck, they weren't even speaking English! Although the subject of these ancient arguments may not be applicable today, the sophisticated techniques utilized by these scholars are invaluable.

A majority of the sources Kolchin used in the book, American Slavery: 1619-1877 were secondary. The purpose of the book was to bring together research, ideas, and opinions from historians from over the years on American Slavery. Kolchin used a multitude of secondary resources that had primary sources listed and verified by the original authors. This allowed his secondary sources to be legitimate and trustworthy for the most part. Just one of his many secondary sources included: Hyman, ed.,
Section 1: Identification and Evaluation of Sources This investigation will explore the question: To what extent did surgical practices change from The Middle Ages to the Renaissance? Medical Theology and Anatomical practices from the 1400s to the 1600s are the two main subject areas for this investigation. Michelle’s historical context derives from numerous ideals. One of which she had been unaware of until the year of 2008, when she found out her direct relation to a slave on Friendfield plantation in Georgetown, South Carolina. Her great- great grandfather, Jim Robinson, was one of over 200 slaves on this plantation in the early 1800s (Bond, 2012). “Michelle has said that knowing the truth about her family history has helped her understand her upbringing, and in a larger sense how the legacy of slavery continues to impact the lives of African Americans to this day” (Bond, 2012, p.2). Michelle herself recognizes the importance of the historical context to her own life and the lives of other African Americans.
Jandamarra: Hero or Villain? I believe that Jandarmarra was a hero as he fought for the rights of his people. Due to the fact that the settlers were destroying his cultural homeland and taking more control of it, I believe it was the right decision to kill them and taunt them. He set free slaves, killed police officers, killed his settler friend due to the fact that his land was being taken. At first, Jandamarra didn’t know how bad the English were, but during the ceremony of him becoming an adult, he sought justice for his people.

The way I interpret the Winthrop’s view on his document is that he acknowledges that there will be a difference in wealth, but you have to help your family then the people who are below you. It talks about how the lord will repay you and how you need to help the poor. So it seems to know that there will be a difference in wealth, but that you cannot just keep all the money for yourself and ignore the poor, you have to help your fellow man. It would be almost impossible to implement the things Winthrop talked about. We have seen how countries tried to implement communism and how countries have tried to implement theocracies.
1. History and myth is an important part of any culture. History is a study of events that have already occurred and is comprised of stories from first-hand experiences. Myth is connected to history as it speaks to the stories and ideas passed down over time that are not true but widely believed by people. This paper will link myth and history together concerning Mount McKinley, more recently named Mount Denali located in the Alaskan mountain range.
Censorship in History: Non-Beneficial Environment for Students Historical truths are at stake. States and schools are murdering U.S. history by either changing it in textbooks or not teaching it all. They’re making it disappear. Censorship of history textbooks in the U.S hides important details and truths from the students. It also gives students false impressions of U.S. history.
