“The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch without doing anything.”(Albert Einstein) The death penalty is an uprising constitutional issue that kills hundreds of people a year. It takes away criminals individual right which is the eighth amendment no cruel or unusual punishment. I think it's the right decision to take away their individual rights because when they kill people they deserve the same amount of punishment they inflicted on their victim and their families. You should know the pain and suffering the victims families go through. None of us could imagine that pain. Would you want to go through this? For the common good of people we should have the death penalty so the criminals can't escape and kill other people. We need let people feel safe in their homes and not to be afraid. The reason why is a court case Gregg Vs. Georgia was a man named Troy Leon Gregg was imprisoned for murdering two people in 1973. Troy was found guilty and sentenced to death, however the night before he was supposed to be put to death he escaped from prison and was killed in North Carolina following a fight. The Government is trying to protect us by killing murders so we feel safe and are country stays safe. We should be thankful for our government, because they care about us and our safty. Some reasons why we need the death penalty are, financial costs to taxpayers of capital punishment are several times that of keeping someone in prison for life. Also if we dont, prisoners on parole can escape and give the criminals another chance to kill. The problem is Jury members are more reluctant to convict someone, putting them to death. This is an issue because we have to do what's right and we can't be reluctant to do what's right for people
