Each one of us has been put in a situation of dilemma whether for himself or for a member of his family, whether to choose life with suffer or death with peace. Neither of the choices is relieving, to live with permanent physical or mental suffer or end a life by your own hands. What would you do in a situation like that? Would you give a chance of living? Or a decision of death? The decision of killing someone to prevent him from further pain, people calls it mercy killing. How can killing be mercy? Although many people have chosen mercy killing to stop the suffering of people they love or of themselves, it should not be legalized as it is considered as a murder, also only God has the right to decide when the time is, as well as people who request it do not actually want to die and it gives more power to doctors to kill.

Many people think that those who ask for assisted death is due to the unbearable physical pain, but the truth is they are afraid of the possible consequences of their illness. We are tricked by the desire of patients who ask for assisted death and we think that it is for their own goodness to stop the pain and let go of suffering. “Obviously, no one wants to be a burden to their families, friends, and communities. But it’s also true that no one wants to die. Those people who say “let me die,” usually don’t mean what they say, and in fact are thankful when their request is denied.” (Top 10 Reasons Euthanasia Should Be Illegal). The fact is no one really wants to die, 66% of patients who requested euthanasia did not want to be a burden to their family members and friends. To sum up this idea, we should not give them the choice of euthanasia but give them love, care and hope that one day they may recover and assure them that life is worth living and suffering
