The transport officer requires some back knowledge of corrections, while probation officer 1 required a bachelor’s degrees. I thought this was interesting, because I would have thought that the transport officer, would need far more experience, since they are taking inmates to courts and assisting them with paperwork. I’d assume, they would have some knowledge of how the systems work, comparing it with probation officer 1, they require a bachelor’s degree because they are trying to restore the inmate to society, and I think it is very fulfilling that they can be able to help those that need it. Another difference noted: the salary difference was significant. It makes sense that the prisoner transport officer gets paid more because they are doing extremely difficult work, but probation officers are payed minimal, I think there could be a better to pay probation officers better, because they are trying to rehabilitate and spend much of their time monitoring those that have been
