I wanted to reach out to introduce myself for consideration in regards to the position of: Grade 4 Teacher - Mansion Avenue School. When I looked further into it, the career that interested me the most was Teacher Assisting. Being a teacher’s assistants meets what I value through having a good workplace, since I get to work with kids and it is something I love to do. There would be a sense of accomplishment seeing all when a child finally gets something that they are struggling on and the innovative challenge of coming up with new ways to present the same information so that each student gets the concept. In order to be in this career field I would need to have the abilities of oral comprehension and expression as well as be able to speak clearly and understand what someone is saying when they speak to me. Being in this career field means I would be supervising children in distinct places around the school environment.
Growing up, I always loved helping and taking care of people. After high school I became and EMT and it was a job that I loved but had to give up after having children. Being able to help someone in their time of need, just gave me the satisfaction of knowing that I had a purpose in this world. Now that my children are getting older, I have decided to take back the reins of my life and go back to school to become a registered nurse. With nursing, there can be very different scopes of practice.
The motivation, passion, and the internal will to want to succeed in life has always dwelled within me, so ultimately, all I needed was to find what interest me in life. In the beginning, I found myself staring down the road of becoming a teacher or dental hygienist. At first the idea of becoming a teacher seemed like a prominent, and fulfilling job. I get to convey knowledge to groups of young individuals, I also get to work in a setting with other mature adults who share my passion, and I have the opportunity to work with children; but, ultimately, there was just one main component missing for me, and that was the hands-on aspect. I told myself that I wanted to be involved in a career that is very hands-on.
I am interested in teaching poetry at your school. I was excited to find your job opportunity. I am pursing a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am passionate about education and excited to share the joy of learning with students. The perspective of wonder and sense of excitement that children bring into education motivates me daily. Teaching can leave a lasting impression in a child’s life and offers a special opportunity to shape the bright young minds of future generations. While many professions can be impactful, I believe the qualities of the person in the career position to be the most influential.
