Becoming a Mortician Morticians, also known as funeral directors, deal with various family situations on a day to day basis. There are a variety of jobs that they must attend to. Many of which are not scheduled until a few days in advance. Morticians have to make sure they prioritize they are day because they have various job duties that they must attend to throughout the day. Some of these duties include working with the family privately to counsel them through the acceptance process which consists of 5 stages, making arrangements for the deceased to go to the right mortuary and transporting them there, preparing the deceased for a funeral, or making sure the deceased goes to the proper crematory to be cremated.
