Product Portfolio Paper

I am submitting my proposed Product Portfolio for your review, Dr. McChesney. My proposal addresses our expended support to include third party products, as well as products that I believe should be either redeveloped or discontinued. In our effort to progress to a full service provider for our every-increasing customer base by providing support to include third party products, as well as providing consulting services, we have found that we may have expanded too much and are experiencing some hardships. We are experiencing problems completing our product development to market, and are not supporting our customers appropriately. Our business is suffering as our product quality has decreased due to the new products and services we have

The portfolio review board will consist of several experienced managers and or executives that represent diverse organizational responsibilities and perspectives (Levin, 2015). It is difficult to keep up with all the newer technology to keep our products in demand since they are constantly evolving with better improvements and newer versions. Of course with the many different products we offer, they are at varying stages of the product life cycle. Our systems, networks, and printers are all at the mature stage since they have been available for many years, even though they have experienced many upgrades, versions, and changes. Due to the ever-changing and upgrading of mobile devices, they are at the growth stage. I believe that we should continue to offer all our current products since they are most definitely popular and necessary products desired by the general public. However, some will of course be discontinued and replaced with a different newer type or version due to newer technology. We must not abandon development of new products however, since an estimated 50% of an organization’s sales originate from new products introduced into the market with the prior five years
