The university of Colorado Boulder fits many of my academic and professional goals. When researching different universities, the University of Colorado Boulder’s engineering program caught my eye. One of the many attributes I liked was the different options within a chemical engineering major a student could choose. I’ve always been passionate about the environment and the outdoors, so the fact that I could focus my major around that but also stay in chemical engineering is a prime reason I think CU would be the best fit. So far chemical engineering has been a great fit for me. I have enjoyed learning about how things work and how to problem solve on a microscopic level. One of my main goals is to minor in Global Engineering. At my current …show more content…
A community needs a diverse group of people to work because each person is already unique and has something different to contribute. Therefore, a welcoming, inclusive community would be more successful than one where everyone is the same. They show all people to learn and accept differences in others. Diversity and inclusiveness are important in all aspects of life including work, travel, and even social situations. In college, I’ve already experienced such diversity, for example in my engineering class we had an end of the semester project and everyone’s groups were assigned. Each one of my group members was from a different country. It was a struggle to communicate initially but getting past the initial barrier opened so many opportunities for unique ideas, the final topic decided on was bioengineered microbes. We created a group message to make it easier if someone needed to translate something they didn’t understand. Every one of us had different suggestions and had learned different things in our previous bio classes and even different classes taken at our university, then found a way to link them
