Within my background and my past and future life experiences, I bring resilience, determination, and hard work into the GCSU student body. Having a challenging background has taught me to value hard work and the need for a great work ethic. This has molded me into a compassionate and hard-working individual, which has led me to be ready to support and uplift my peers. On top of that, my leadership skills have been fulfilled through various experiences, including leading teams and through school activities. All while doing this, it has shown that I think outside of the box very well, which shows that I excel in collaborative environments.

I have worked with HR staffing policies and reconciliation during my time at Rockwell Collins. I am currently the lead contact on HR staffing updates for the organization's Engineering Program Management group. I update the staffing headcount for each cost center group in the department, and work with Program Managers to answer ad hoc inquiries on their weekly staffing updates. Although my experience with HR regulations is limited, I am eager to learn and hope to put my education in managerial concepts to use in this role. I have held various leadership positions during my time at Iowa State University.
I’ve always had a passion for helping people, especially children and the elderly population. In fact, I have been working with children quite some time now. I was a camp counselor. I tutored and assisted children with their homework and other assignments. I taught vacation Bible school.
Professionalism, to me, means always conducting oneself in a manner that is respectful, responsible, and competent. It is about consistently displaying integrity, ethical behavior, and a strong work ethic in all interactions and tasks. Professionalism also involves maintaining a positive attitude, being punctual and reliable, and taking pride in one's work. It is essential to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to always strive for excellence in performance. Furthermore, professionalism extends beyond just one's individual actions and behaviors; it also involves treating others with courtesy and respect.

Working with children is a great passion of mine. Supporting children and watching them develop is my main aim as I think being responsible for the healthy development of small children is both rewarding and a personal achievement. My passion to work with children came from my only nephew a few years ago when he was born. Helping him walk and teaching him to speak was a huge accomplishment for me knowing I am helping him through his early years in preparation for nursery.
I never envisioned myself in a professional role that involved me working behind a desk or in an office without constant interactions with others in some capacity. I always saw myself having a career that involved interacting with children and witnessing their eyes light up or that "aha" moment when they learn new concepts. For a while, I was still deciding what career would be the best fit for me, but now I know that seeking to be a teacher is the best fit for me. A career as a teacher is meaningful and will allow me to work directly with children daily. In the role, I will teach them educational and behavioral skills while also being able to provide them with the necessary resources to witness their growth.
Professional identity is an important factor to have. As you become a counselor, when you are talking with the clients, you will tell them what you can do, what you cannot do, what they expect out of you. Professional identity is what you have learned and will learn while you complete your master’s program. It is about understanding yourself and your profession. When I think about my professional identity, I think about why I chose this field, and how I can make an impact on someone's life Differences in Two Counseling Specialization
Being a service practitioner previously, I have the opportunity to share my personal experiences and goals with students in hopes that they develop their own goals early on in their career. My professional goals are simple. When my students graduated, I want to be remembered as a very professional, hardworking, happy and outgoing as well as knowledgeable faculty member. I think it is important to mention that I don’t have a specific rank that I have set my sights on. When I look back, I want to be confident that I have gave everything I could to this profession, and that I impacted others I worked with.
My personal goal as an Early Childhood Educator is to challenge children in variety of ways according to their developmental domains and help them grow to their full potential. I want to enhance different levels of education for the children and see them develop together for betterment of each individual. Words that I believe that best describe me as an educator are being supportive, reliable and dedicated towards the children, families, parents, and my collogues. The beliefs I have about teaching are that there is nothing more important to a child than the quality of a classroom teacher. Secondly the most important thing an educator can teach a child is, how to learn.
