They were often seen as elegant,beautiful and precious. WIth these women on the cover the magazines were most likely to be bought. White women often looked up to each other for fashion. Many young people during this time looked up to celebrities and wanted to wear the latest “Jennifer Lopez” dress worn on the red carpet. They needed to find a way to attract more attention because around this time it was when internet was used in many homes. The way to catch the public's eye was to put well known faces on the cover and to show off the things they were doing and wearing. Vogue had to do more of a sex appeal to catch the eye of many viewers now because many things have changed. So on the cover models half dressed would be presented that would be revealing but chic.
