I am an architect, urban designer, social scientist, researcher, community advocate, and a planner. I have worked in a diverse range of settings, and in a variety of positions, from an Intern in a six employee architectural firm, to the Secretary of an NGO; and from a Junior Architect, to an independent Researcher on multiple self-initiated urban projects. I have also worked on a wide range of projects, from analyzing policy memos to the application of Visual Machine Learning. I am writing to express my interest in Fall Project Assistant post at Larisa Ortiz Associates. I will graduate from the M.S in Urban Planning program at Columbia University in May 2017.
As an architect and an urban designer, I studied the creation of spaces and their configurations. I designed social experiments to study the interactions between humans, the built environment and the natural environment. I have always been an advocate of newer technologies and newer applications, and worked with State of Place, a startup, exploring the application of Object Recognition through Visual Machine Learning to be incorporated into the SoP Index to measure the walkability of a place and to predict …show more content…

As the Research fellow at Manhattan Community Board 1, I developed a Livability Index to measure the performance of various Community Boards across New York City and to help them identify and target better service delivery. Through these independent projects, I demonstrated creativity, initiative, critical thinking, and self-motivation with a wide range of skills, primarily, attention to detail, data collection and analysis, and superior presentation
