“Project management is used to manage the work, with a limited resource and systematic point of view, methods and theories” (Kerzner, 2013). To achieve an organization’s goal, project management will efficiently monitor and control a series of tasks and activities that are related to the success of a project. “Project Management Information Systems should be able to help project managers with decision making support for planning, organizing and controlling projects” (Kerzner, 2013). Some of the tasks these systems can assist a manager with are scheduling, planning, and maintaining the progress of the tasks and deliverables of the project. “The focus of project management is to ensure that system development projects meet customer’s expectations and are delivered in a scheduled manner and within the allotted budget” (Price, 2016). The job description for a project manager is “a system analyst who is responsible for initiating, planning, executing, and closing a project” (Valacich & Joey , 2017). Project manager is a role that requires strong leadership skills as their key responsibility is to lead project teams.
