In the episode, it states when Lisa tells her mom that Jebediah Springfield was a fraud and he was actually a pirate who told other people that his name was Springfield. This was very annoying to Lisa’s mom and so she immediately stated “‘Everyone knows Jebediah Springfield was a true American hero, end of story!’” This quote shows how people in Springfield think very highly of Jebediah Springfield and how everyone likes him and respects him as a hero.
