Andrew Jackson was president starting in 1824 and while he was in office, people had many different views on him. One of those views was that he exercised power as a total and absolute monarch. He was even given the nickname of “King Andrew the First.” Jackson should be viewed as an absolute monarch because instead of electing his cabinet, he appointed them, giving positions to his supporters. He also fired his whole cabinet, which only made people happy to see him as a tyrant. Because of his actions, Jackson should be viewed as an absolute monarch. Jackson should be viewed as an absolute monarch because he appointed members of his cabinet instead of electing them. After he removed many high ranking officials, Jackson would replace the offices
