Cloning animals is a widely talked about topic the question is is it ethical and is it worth it for the price? Animal cloning has many concerning problems involved in the process with few good things that could potentially come out of it. Some big questions raised about this topic are whether it is ethical and whether it is worth the money and time being used to research. Animal cloning could become a common practice and the change the world as we know it today. The consequences of animal cloning include: danger to current ecosystems, insane amounts of money to research and fund operations, and lots of valuable time spent. cloning animals is unethical because it is unnatural and the reproduction of animals should not be altered. The outrageous costs would not even begin to outweigh bringing back these extinct species because it is unknown what they could provide for us and there is too big of a risk involved”Releasing the species to the wild once a sustainable captive flock is produced represents the greatest challenge to the work, both biologically and politically.” (Novak,2013, p.4) There is a major risk of of the birds or any animal being brought back to life because there is no proof they are able to adapt to specific environments. According to Cheng(2015) “ Unlike natural reproduction, in which the newborn has the genes of both parents and thus can be different from both, cloned animals get their genes from only one and are therefore rather vulnerable.” There is a major problem that has been brought up of lack of diversity of species, which means every species living would share the exact same gene potentially causing long term effects. The ability to survive long term for these animals is affected greatly because there is no genetic diversity. It is unsustainable for the amount of money it costs to clone. “And for some people rich enough to afford it, cloning can “gift” them “copies” of their beloved pets.”(Cheng,2015,p.1) The time and money spent to clone these animals or pets is not worth it because there is a small portion of people who have the capability to purchase a replica of their pet. The benefit of the money spent does not justify the outcome. It is not worth it to spend money on something that will not last very
