Should zoos have bigger animal enclosures? Zoo’s should have bigger animal enclosures because animals at least need a bigger enclosure for them to move around and try to experience their natural environment when they release them back into their natural habitat. Animals should have bigger enclosures so they can move around and experience their own environment than having an enclosure so small that the animal can barely move around in it’s enclosure, then later ends up just sitting around and laying down and not moving around. Zoo’s should also have a bigger enclosure according to an article about pro and cons of zoo enclosures “ while highly improved and attractive, are rarely big enough to prevent animals from suffering depression.”. That shows animals can suffer depression, even if the enclosure is attractive, but not big enough for the animal to roam around in. Zoos that have big enclosures are more likely to make the environment more similar than zoos with small enclosures for the big animals. Zoo’s should have bigger enclosures for animals that live in groups such as wolves since they live in groups they need a lot of space to move around in and since wolves move around a lot in the wild they need space to run around in.
