With driving a stich shift, you must remove one hand while of the gas and fully onto the clutch to shift gears. You are much more focused on your driving which could possibly be a safety hazard. Many people expect driving manual to just come naturally although it takes lots of practice to get comfortable with driving on the streets. After all the practice your left leg could possibly feel strained due to no movement in that leg when driving an automatic.
