My dad would pick me up from school, sometimes early, and we would ride the bart station 45 minutes to the Ballpark. After my first visit, I fell in love with the game of baseball. Living in a world that is so worried about time and constant change, baseball has been the one thing I have felt completely drawn too.

It will be a long road to becoming a professional player, but I will be ready for any roadblocks that come my way. The one thing that I need to do to become a better baseball player is to practice. For most of my childhood, the sport of baseball was the one activity I loved above anything else. Baseball has taught me many life lessons as well as opened doors that wouldn’t exist without it. The people that I have met, the coaches who have taught me the game, have all had a profound impact on the player and the person that I am today. Baseball has changed my life completely. It has created a strong work ethic because if you aren’t concerned with getting better then someone will pass you by.
As soon as I step on that red dirt all my worries, problems, and thoughts leave for the 2 hours that I am on the field. Softball has meant so much to me because I struggle with school, I’m not artistic, and I can’t really play any instruments, so without softball I wouldn’t have anything. Softball is the one thing I’m good at and I love playing it. When I step on the red dirt with the other eight girls we work together and we put aside our differences for 2 hours. Those two hours with the other girls make softball so much more enjoyable because they love the game as much as I do and it is truly amazing how sports brings people together.
My perfect writing place would be a place where privacy and quietude reign. The atmosphere would cause me to be enveloped in my writing so my thoughts fill each page. I want to be immersed in my work and have no distractions to disrupt my writing. When I write I want to be comfortable, and feel as if I can simply relax and write without the pressure of others. In my perfect workspace I would have all the materials I need to write effectively and efficiently.
