I believe that being an American Is the greatest thing that could happen to a person and here is why. In the story "Veterans Day: Never Forget Their Duty" is about veterans who are P.O.W.s in North Vietnam. They were captured and tortured. But even going through all that they are still able to salute the flag of The United States Of America. A man named Mike Christian, he was the man who sewed an American flag on the inside of his shirt.
If trump gets elected into presidency his primary goal is to deport 11 million immigrant families that live on the U.S. Im not sure if he is talking about non US citizens or families that have expiring visas. He spoke them being forced out of their homes, jobs, and schools by the police at anytime. If he succeeds-which he won’t; there will be billions of dollars gone for his selfish request to supposedly “make America great again” but its people like him that make America what it is today . We as a nation are in debt for billion of dollars as it is , so if he is elected to be president then us as a nation are basically going in a downward spiral because we already owe trillions of dollars.

However, many people from other countries have had the qualities and experience necessary to become president, yet they have been hindered from doing so by this foolish provision. Clearly, this is not right. I believe you do not need to be born on US soil, to become president for the following reasons: (1) many people misconceive the meaning of the word natural-born citizen,(2) many people from foreign countries have helped America in many ways,(3) most other countries do not have similar qualifications Firstly, many people misconceive the meaning of the word, natural-born citizen. According to an article by the Harvard Law Review, the word natural-born citizen actually means that a natural-born citizen is someone who has been given birth to by a parent who is a citizen of the United States regardless of where he or she is born, without going through the naturalization process.

This country is great for many reason, despite its hardships. One of the many reasons is that we have freedom to chose, freedom of religion, and freedom of speech. What makes America great? There are many things that make America great. Americans are a diverse group of people, and being an American means different things to each subgroup of people who live there. To me, being an American has some negative aspect; however the rights we have, and our resources vastly outweigh the bad aspects. American Citizen's rights that most people in other countries don’t.

When I go to school I show everyone what it means to be an American even if they can’t see it. It gives me the opportunity to let me do what I want to do and how I do it. To be an American means that I am free and that I can vote for anyone that I want to vote for. To be an American means that you can say the Pledge of Allegiance and know what it means and why we have it. We are a country that brings in people from all over the world and who have different religion to be joined as one.
