I believe that being an American Is the greatest thing that could happen to a person and here is why. In the story "Veterans Day: Never Forget Their Duty" is about veterans who are P.O.W.s in North Vietnam. They were captured and tortured. But even going through all that they are still able to salute the flag of The United States Of America. If trump gets elected into presidency his primary goal is to deport 11 million immigrant families that live on the U.S. Im not sure if he is talking about non US citizens or families that have expiring visas. He spoke them being forced out of their homes, jobs, and schools by the police at anytime. If he succeeds-which he won’t; there will be billions of dollars gone for his selfish request to supposedly “make America great again” but its people like him that make America what it is today . We as a nation are in debt for billion of dollars as it is , so if he is elected to be president then us as a nation are basically going in a downward spiral because we already owe trillions of dollars.

According to ArticleⅡ, SectionⅠ, Clause Ⅴ, of the Constitution, a person must be a natural-born citizen to be eligible become president. However, many people from other countries have had the qualities and experience necessary to become president, yet they have been hindered from doing so by this foolish provision. Clearly, this is not right. I believe you do not need to be born on US soil, to become president for the following reasons: (1) many people misconceive the meaning of the word natural-born citizen,(2) many people from foreign countries have helped America in many ways,(3) most other countries do not have similar qualifications Firstly, many people misconceive the meaning of the word, natural-born citizen. According to an article by the Harvard Law Review, the word natural-born citizen actually means that a natural-born citizen is someone who has been given birth to by a parent who is a citizen of the United States regardless of where he or she is born, without going through the naturalization process.

This country is great for many reason, despite its hardships. One of the many reasons is that we have freedom to chose, freedom of religion, and freedom of speech. We are also a melting pot for many different ethnicity. Being an American is about the freedom we here enjoy. We are full of different ethnicity and cultures.

There are many pros for being an american but you just don't become an american by living in america. When I think about the term “being an American” I get a sense of pride because I was always taught and still believe that you should be proud to be an American. To be an American could mean a lot of different ideas for example, you can be able to vote for a candidate to be the president of the united states, as well you have many other rights that anyone would want to have in their countries.
