Birth control has been in existence for many years. It is a heavily debated subject among society. Not all agree with the same views, which is why there will always be two sides, either agreeing or opposing the issue for many reasons. Let’s begin by examining three reasons why some people agree with birth control. Birth control prevents unwanted pregnancy particularly in teens. There are many teens that are sexually active and not taking the proper precautions to protect themselves. As a result, they become pregnant. Consequently, this is a significant impact now and their future. A teen may drop out of school (lack of education) to work one or more minimum wage jobs to provide for their child. Birth control relieves some of the symptoms of Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) that women experience. Both of these medical conditions show signs of severe cramping and irregular menstrual cycles. Birth control “regulate menstrual cycles, reduces pain and cramps, clears acne, improves hair growth, as well as balance hormones (Medical Uses of The, 2011).” Lastly, birth control is needed for population control. According to the United States Census Bureau “there are over 7 billion people in the world (U.S. and World Population, 2015)” If society keeps reproducing and exceeds what Earth can support, eventually there will be a shortage of resources such as the basic necessities. Products will increase in price due to the shortages and the economy will plummet from it. Those that oppose birth control have reasons why it should not exist. One reason is because it is morally wrong in some religions such as the Catholic Religion. Catholics believe that bringing a child into the world should happen naturally and that it is a blessing from God. Taking birth control to not have children was not God’s purpose for
