As a young single mother working 10-12-hour shifts, child care becomes a necessity. While rising young children and working more than 40hrs a week finding child care became difficult. The government does provide financial assistance that help single mother find affordable day-care, but you must make sure you meet the government requirements. Child care is very important for any working parent it allows the opportunity to work, so they provide their child with basic everyday needs. While finding child care its important to look at these 3 factors affordability, safety, and scheduling. Affordability is a key factor I look at when finding child care for my children. Safety is very important when discovering and choosing the right child care. When I think of safety I think of how the building looks on inside and outside. Is the building in good condition, do they have a security system so only the parents and authorized personnel know the security code to get in the building, are the toys and furniture sanitize daily, and finally how many kids are there to a teacher. I only had two bad experiences with a day care facility. For instance, I was visiting a day care center to see would be a candidate. I walked in the facility it had bugs specifically roaches crawling on the floor, the play mats were dirty, and some of the kids was running around the room with dirty noses. The place was horrible, but I think the only reason it had business because the price was very affordable. They only charge fifty dollars a week, but who want to leave their child in an unclean place where your children is susceptible to getting
