Just like Varricchio said in his article “Continuing Education: expanding opportunities for officers” continuing education helps enhanced the problem-solving skills necessary for officers to operate successfully in this environment. Varricchio also says that “A firm educational foundation not only enhance officers’ general knowledge, but it also helps strengthen the problem solving skills that have become integral to contemporary police. Having a higher educated officer will benefit the police department but also the community they are serving in.
