Have you ever been to Costco? There are many mass products there. So, if you want to buy enough for your family members, Costco would be the best place to buy things. How did this mass production start? It all began with the factory system during the industrial revolution. Industrial revolution is the change from agrarian systems to new manufacturing systems.The industrial revolution took place from about 1760 to 1820 and 1840. (“Wikipedia industrial revolution”, October 3rd 2017) It has changed our way of our life, mostly in positive ways. During the industrial revolution, the shift from the cottage industry, which is an agrarian system, to the factory system deeply affected society. There are some advantages and disadvantages with each system. However, these three reasons made me to think that this shift is positive. Factory system were able to start mass production, factory used developed machines and technologies. Also, it’s much more faster and easier than before. During the cottage industry, the products were made by handmade at home. Also, the cottage industry were very small scale of operations. So, they didn’t access any other modernized ways. The shift was a miracle for all the productions, people. Factory system were able to start the mass production and it was able to dramatic increase in production. Also, the developed new machines and technology could make everything possible in factory. Lastly, it was more faster and easier than before and workers were able to save their time, able to the time management and it was opportunity for urban to grow. Nowadays, almost all the countries are using factory system and machines to make products.
